Today I choose to be light in the world. This blog post (or maybe personal mantra!) focuses on our gifts of faith and choice. We have faith in a loving Creator and in the power of love and light around us. We have the ability to choose each day, how we will be in the world around us? Will we despair and give in to the darkness? Or will we remain steadfast in sharing our light and love with the world around us? I wish you light and love for today.

To be people of peace in times of doubt and despair is a daily challenge. But the world needs our light and our hope. The millions of lights that shine around the world can bring peace and hope but we must believe that we all have a part, a voice, a light that can help to make a difference. As a wise friend shared, "Even our smallest actions, when added to those of others, will create change."

Are we standing up in the conviction that miracles can indeed happen, that there can be peace? Or are we throwing up our hands in despair, believing that nothing can change? This article reflects on a poem written by Ann Weems called I No Longer Pray for Peace. Do we believe in the light within ourselves, the light and power of Christ in each of us? Now is the time for us to "stand up" and bear this light to those around us.
